Leaving Gallup we only had a few more miles before we left HWY 40 turning northward to Santa Fe and Taos our next stops on our way to Salida, Colorado.  The turning point is Albuquerque, NM.


Yes, we were one of the millions that got hooked on the TV series that ” is a strange kind of must-watch: a show you dread and crave at once.” So naturally when buzzing though we needed to go like lemmings to collect our share of the BB merch.

As we left ABQ I checked in with Roadtrippers about where to eat in Madrid, New Mexico. They lead us to Mine Shaft Tavern.

We cruised into Santa Fe arriving at the Silver Saddle Motel about 3:30 pm and relaxed a bit before dinner.

IMG_6572.JPGNext morning we drove north west west to Tsankawi tohike the mesa where Indians lived eons ago and saw petroglyphs, caves and the paths they wore into the rock. It was a beautiful morning for a 1.5 mile hike.
