There is a change coming to California, HSR – High Speed Rail.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? There are many minds on both sides of this fence.
The idea was spawned many years ago and then voted in by a narrow margin on November 4, 2008. Since then the powers that be have been hard at work getting the funds and figuring out the routes for this railroad to follow. The later has become a bone of contention in the Central Valley. My concern is that two of the routes go through precious agricultural land. I say precious because Ag land is getting smaller and smaller here in California. If this railroad cuts up the land instead of following the highway corridor, we all will be losers, not just the farmers and dairymen. The GREAT Central Valley of California is the bread basket of the world. We need to protect it so they can continue to feed the US and the world.
